face routine

after i cleanse/shower/wash my face;

1. benzoyl peroxide; i use CVS's "acne treatment", comes in a .75oz tube (in a box)

2. scar gel; i use CVS's "scar gel", comes in a 1.76oz tube (in a box).. hopefully my face will clear up soon! :\ it's pretty bad especially all over my cheeks (though cheek bones are OK) and i have a birth mark that i'm hoping will also go away. who knows? :\ 

3. moisturize; i've been using AVEENO "positively ageless rejuvenating serum", 1.7oz container with squirt top. i've been using more around my nose.. because it's peeling for whatever reason! looks really gross :\ i try to scrub at it but it doesn't seem to do much. WHY do i use aveeno? i like their other lotions and.. i don't really know why. i just grabbed it while i was in houston since i didn't bring my other lotion.. and have just been using it since. 

4. bb cream; i use skinfood mushroom all over my face (i tend to skip my forehead) then skinfood aloe over my cheeks (just started doing this.. and i'm not sure why. it doesn't give me noticeably more coverage or anything.. hmm..). i prefer mushroom over aloe but i did order aloe so i should be using it, right? :) i definitely skip forehead/tzone with aloe because i find it makes me oily(er). it also makes my skin flakes on my nose stand out so i try to avoid using it on my nose. YES the color matches me (i use #2) and NO there are no noticeable "patches" between the areas that i do or don't apply bb cream to.

5. all-over; been using maybelline dream matte powder for the past few days and i like it :) using beige 2-2.5.. and i use my ELF total face brush to apply. i'm so tempted to get another one but there's really no point! KATIE, how long does one of yours last?? maybe i should write a date on mine to see.. hmm.. 

6. cheeks; i like the NYC mosaic wheel in "peach glow".. gives me a subtle glow. i switch it up between just using "peach glow" and mixing with "pink cheek glow".. pink first, then peach on top. if i use just a PINK blush, it makes me look too flushed (i tend to put on too much probably). 

7. lips; i've actually been using my MAC viva glam... IV? it looks the same as NYX "natural" lg in the bottle but it comes out totally different.. MAC is sheer (at least on my lips) where as NYX is more.. milky? i also like maybelline moisture extreme d110 "rose glow".

repeat steps 1-3 at night time also.

beyond that, the rest of my face varies. i definitely don't use eyeliner all the time and before, i didn't even use a base b/c mine was just so waxy and i hated putting it on.. that i just didn't. but i do love the paintpot :) tehee. used it once and it seemed to work so well--too bad i just didn't take pics of it. go figure :\ 

fav eye combo at the moment?

1. MAC painterly paintpot

2. NYX ts14 "highlight/brown/suede" in a gradation

3. MAC handwritten over NYX brown area and blend up a little

4. MAC shroom as highlight, blended a little with NYX suede

waiting on my MAC harmony blush (went to southcoast w/ the bf and asked somebody behind the MAC counter if it would be a good contour.. and she said definitely without a question) and cutester ls :) and i'm wanting to get some brushes at ELF (in love with their blending brush that i use.. for everything.. LOL).. but don't want anything else :\ soooo unless they have free shipping on all orders sometime soon.. looks like i'll just have to overuse my poor brush. 

beauty thoughts for 2009

- get a new face-contour brush

- get more ELF "blending" brushes

- possibly get a new all-over-face brush?

- find a foundation??
