thankful

i'm thankful for stace, for reminding me that i was going to post a thankful blog with HER thankful blog... hahaa :P

i'm thankful for the bad times, because it shows us how good the good times are. it helps bring people together to defeat the bad times. it shows me my weaknesses and brings out my strengths. it helps me reach out to people and accept their help that i may not normally have accepted or wanted or showed gratitude for, had i always been strong. it helps build bridges and create bonds that link us all together.

i'm thankful for the house that i come home to that holds my family. i'm thankful for my father for working through his own hands to always have money for our wants and needs, even if we need to be frugal about it, even if it's not always in his best interest, for his weird jokes and his funny laugh and how he likes it when i'm around but he tries not to show it. i'm thankful for my mother for always being understanding and listening to me when i want to rant, or for taking my randomness and laughing instead of being irritated, for cooking and washing my laundry even though she doesn't have to, for emailing me every once in awhile when she hasn't heard from me just to see how i'm doing. i'm thankful for my brother for being such a great brother to me, for being a role model that i constantly strive to catch up to, for listening when i need someone, for including me in his life even though we are so far apart in age. i'm thankful for my puppy, hannah, for always being willing to be pet and talked to, and for always reaching out to be given attention to and for taking my mind off the world's worries for a little while. i'm thankful that they trust me to live my life and to make the right decisions. i'm thankful that they support me, even if they don't always show it.

i'm thankful for my friends who are there for me whenever i need them, and i'm sorry that it takes hard times for us to all gather around together and be as close as i would like us all to be on a normal basis. i'm thankful that they continue to be there for me, even in periods of long absence of communication. i'm thankful that they put up with my stupid jokes and my sarcasm and that they continue to laugh and joke with me even though i probably become annoying at times. i'm thankful that we keep up communication, however little, and pop in to check up on each other, just to let each other know that we haven't forgotten each other.

as for my FABFIVE ladies<3

i'm thankful for beth for calling and trying to keep the communication line open, even if i don't answer my calls or call back for awhile. i'm thankful that she keeps trying, too! i'm thankful that she's so girly enough for the entire group, i'm thankful that she puts up with my jokes even though i laugh at her and make jokes everytime i talk to her, and that she puts up with my pokes and other random harassments that i do.. i definitely know those would get annoying. i'm thankful for our extended hangout times by just standing around talking about random things, i'm thankful for our ability to talk and relate. i'm thankful that she laughs at my weirdness, because.. when i'm around her.. i'm definitely weird. i'm thankful for her fashion sense because she can pull off looks that i simply can't (like looking elegant, just by being her model-like self) bu still being able to find things for me that look good on me too. i'm thankful for her inability to make funny faces (harhar :P) and awkward things (cough, boob pushups) because.. face it.. it's just hilarious :)

i'm thankful for jade and how she finds certain things absolutely hilarious. i'm thankful for her laughter and her emails that magically come around the time where i seriously get worried if she's alive or not. i'm thankful for her call during the yorba linda fires. i'm thankful that even though we're not that close, she'll still talk to me about how things are going. i'm thankful for her compliments (all the time!) even if i don't think anything warrants one. i'm thankful for how nice she is all the time. i'm thankful for how modest she is about her looks.. because.. even though she's gorgeous and model-like and how we always tell her that, she always manages to find a time to say "i'm fat!".. then give me a look because she knows i'm about to say something, then duck away before i open my mouth. i'm thankful that she's so fashionable, because i can live vicariously through her and her SKINNY ASS (yea you heard me!!). even though she does still have a badonkadonk ;)

i'm thankful for cuzzo and how ALIKE we are. i'm thankful that we can pig out together :) i'm thankful that she puts up with my jokes and how much i tease her, and that she'll still tell me embarrassing stories right after. i'm thankful for her romanticizing and her crushes because she voices how she feels, whereas i usually don't. i'm thankful for her stories about her huge family and how she doesn't tire of explaining to me how who is related to who and what their name is, no matter how many times i ask.. and how she doesn't stop telling me stories just because i'm forgetful of names. i'm thankful that she lets me girl her up occasionally (makeup, straighten her hair), even though i know that she doesn't really care for it.. i'm thankful for her snailmail letters that come and always make me laugh the whole way through. i'm thankful for how studious she is, because i hope it will rub off on me (one of these days). i'm thankful for her goals and dreams, i'm thankful for how down to earth she can be and how honest she can be.. yet how sensitive and shy she can get at times also. i'm thankful for how sportsy and tomboyish she can be, because it evens me out. mostly, i'm thankful that she will call herself my cousin ;) because.. who would want to be related to me??

i'm thankful for gdawg and our endless jokes and laughs. i'm thankful that she's opening up the cell as a line of communication and calls me even though she's like me and doesn't like talking on the phone much either.. i'm glad how much we can relate emotionally and mentally and how our histories are similar (ha ha, our shared ex-bf). i'm glad that we can sit in the car or anywhere and talk and talk and talk and keep finding things to talk about. i'm thankful for how completely ridiculous she can get at times and how it helps me feel a little more normal :P i'm thankful for checking in once in awhile with blogs and not disappearing completely away, even if she is completely and totally busy. i'm thankful for being able to relate fashion-wise. i'm thankful for the fact that we're still strong and that we still talk, even though we both agreed sometime during senior year that we probably wouldn't talk to each other much past college. i'm thankful for how stubborn and strong headed she can get, because i can relate that so much to me. i'm thankful for how friendly she is and how she makes people feel comfortable, even if it's because she's doing something ridiculous to make them feel more comfortable ;)

i'm thankful for my group of guys that i hang out with occasionally :P shaan, adam, winston, paul. i'm thankful that they still find me entertaining enough to hang out with them and that they keep in touch with me. i'm thankful that they're so level headed and drama-free. i'm thankful for shaan's sense of humor. i'm thankful for adam's long xanga entries that almost always make me think and that i can actually comment on, how protective he can be, yet how he can be himself around me and make ridiculous comments :P i'm thankful for winston always checking up on AIM, even if we don't have much to talk about at times. i'm thankful for how open paul is and how he gets along with everyone and makes everyone feel comfortable.. plus all of his music! i'm thankful that they are always here for me if i need to text, write a letter to, rant on AIM to, or take out for a drive at 3am. i'm thankful that they're just guys and will take my bet that they can't finish a large shaved ice in under an hour ;)

i'm thankful for my apartment in santa barbara, i'm thankful that we're on good terms with our landlord. i'm thankful that we can keep expenses down and i'm thankful that our room mate is so good. i'm thankful that he's like an older brother to me and listens to me when i want to rant, that he will put up with me whenever i decide that i want to be annoying and bother him. i'm thankful for his jokes and his sense of responsibility. i'm thankful that i can have a roof over my head while i'm going to school (parents).. so i don't have to eat every variation of turkey known to man in these next few months ;P

i'm thankful for my boyfriend. i'm thankful that he'll put up with my random mood swings and that he'll always try to find out what's wrong or what's bothering me. i'm thankful that he'll be honest with me. i'm thankful that he's always there for me whenever i need a hug. i'm thankful that he'll put up with me wanting attention (to a certain point). i'm thankful for how he'll always be near me when i'm crying and how he always finds a way to put a smile on my face. i'm thankful for the fact that he will apologize, yet still be firm with his point. i'm thankful that he constantly reminds me of how important i am to him and how much he loves me and finds a way at least once a day to compliment me. i'm thankful for the fact that he doesn't take me for granted. i'm thankful for the little things he does for me (like kissing me on the forehead occasionally when i'm cuddled up next to him while he's playing a game). i'm thankful that he calls when he's away and lets me know how he's doing and puts up with my questions. i'm thankful that he strives to reach his dreams, because it then pushes me to reach mine. i'm thankful that he doesn't run away with fantasies and that he keeps me grounded. i'm thankful that he doesn't keep his emotions from me and talks with me. i'm thankful that i'm the first one he reaches for when he needs someone to be there. i'm thankful for how appreciative he is, whether it's me paying for food or me getting something for him, doing dishes, cleaning, etc. i'm thankful for how we can still joke around, and even when i get mad at him for it, he reminds me of that importance. i'm thankful that he can loosen me up when i'm wound up too tightly. i'm thankful that he brings out the best and the worst in me--and helps me fix and deal with the worst. i'm thankful for how wonderful he's been to me for these past 13 months and how wonderful i trust he will be in the future. etc. i'll save it for later ;)

there are other things i'm thankful for, but is getting too late to blog in depth about.. it's 3:45am.. and i definitely need to go pee. then go to sleep ;)

gnite, lovelies!! i hope you've all had a fantastic thanksgiving.
