045. SUCCESS! (finally)

apartment: done!

have the keys, paid the money, signed the contract. changing locks tomorrow so we get mailbox + new keys tomorrow morning.. and new refrigerator in on tuesday (no refrig at the moment). 2br, 1.5bath. two off street parking.. stairs right next to our door (we're on the second story). walk in and to the left is the kitchen (no dishwasher :< lame). to the right is the living room (sort of small, eh). doorway leads to.. room + 1.5 bath on the left, room on the right, full bathroom straight ahead (basically). first payment was $3818 D: stupid 2k+ deposit. landlord's pretty cool.. cats and dogs around the structure. LOTS of apartments it seems like. pretty cool. pool in the middle.. and.. yup. washer+dryer on premises, paid, fairly cheap. i'm not in love with the place but it'll do. i can survive. definitely smaller than where i am atm but.. eh. whatever. cheaper and closer to town. we can move later (next year).




projects: done!

ended up not doing EITHER craftsperson OR musician. just could not find people. had a pretty kick ass term project though (suicides). yea that sounds weird. here are the images (www.sarahsakamoto.com/term). yuuuup. final is next week friday. at this point, i need lots of money (money = grade) to make it happen. i'll pass but.. i'd rather get a higher grade than what i have, missing those two assignments. oh! but my term project was a success. i printed it here (love printer) and.. didn't feel like mounting it to put on the critique rack. that would've been weird (presentation was up to us, btw). i wanted to get those clear overhead projector sheets to trace those "white clay outline" things but.. didn't get them. lame. had no idea how to present, then the teacher (i love him!!) told me to put it on the ground, scattered. awesome. class liked it. i had some thumbs up :) made me feel pretty good. then.. i made an origami crane (tsuri?) for the teacher and.. he really liked it. told me to sign it and said he was going to put it into his office 'cause it was cute. :) that made me happy too. i really like him. he's just a funny old (sort of, maybe 50's?) man. going to miss him :(




bryant: happy!

he made me a website :) well.. registered a domain name for me. it's under one of his accounts but still. my own website! i just have to uh.. well.. design it D: but at least i have somewhere to link to now. cooool~ hahha. nothing is up but.. yes! www.sarahsakamoto.com is minnneeee. oh. well. he did post a cute video up on there for me :) go watch it! haha. and umm.. he's staying here for the summer.. his brother's coming at the end of this month and his sister is coming sometime in july. awesome. met his bro before but.. yes. meeting his sister. she did threaten me (jokingly..?) though she was drunk when she said it. and it was mostly if i hurt bryant at all that she'd kill me. go figure. :P but then when i went to houston, his mom told bryant that if he hurt ME, she'd have to kill HIM. hahahaa. :)




story time: luddite! = happy

so "luddite" was the self-picked nickname for my fifth grade teacher. she was my friend's teacher for third grade, then i got her for fifth. we got along super well :) i ended up being her TA when i was in 8th grade, and i periodically go visit her and email her long emails of how i'm doing, even if she doesn't respond (it takes her awhile to type). i taught her how to use the computer.. the grade program.. stuff like that. whenever she had a question, i figured it out. i also was a super grader haha. finished things fast. she really liked me and vice versa too :) and i didn't know exactly HOW much until i came around her room around graduation time.. and she said "she's here!!" and hugged me and was telling me how she knew i'd make it and how proud she was of me and how i was "the one of all her years of teaching" and i looked up at her and she was crying. aww.. and she told me to go find her car (she had to go) in the parking lot, so i did. her license plate? LUDDITE. looooove. and i still go see her. everytime i do and there's another person there, she always brags about me, haha. aw. she is a sweetheart x3




hair: ugh D:

looks good after i get out of the shower and blowdry it.. but then it get weird after awhile. need to get it thinned out. was thinking of that angled bob but it seems too short, bryant doesn't really like it and.. i'm not a huge fan of short hair either. can't decide what to do with my hair. any suggestions? i could cut it shorter, since it's summer and all. just not sure. if i don't like it and then what? i hate the time that it takes for hair to grow out D: or i could recut the length that i got it cut in march. can't decide.




destressing: whoo!

hot shower around 1:30am and.. picked up shaan around 2am and just went driving. originally said walking but it was sort of sprinkling so.. yea. that's pretty lame. went around streets for awhile then got on the 101n. jeez. if you don't know where you're going on that, don't get on that randomly after the glen annie exit. exits don't come for miles. and even when they do, some are awful shady looking and not well lit at 2:30am D: but.. yes. it was fun. shaan gave me a "tour" of ucsb.. "so to the left there's.. and.. there's that and.. yup. that's ucsb." hahah. he's a fun guy to talk to, goofy. listened to me complain. he's pretty much awesomesauce. :)




sarah: happy. i've been coming up with picture ideas that i need to write down before i forget so i can use them when i'm all un-inspired.
