035. lovelove

all 38.52GB of my data... unreachable. freaked out. apparently something "popped" in my little portable Lacie hard drive this afternoon when we went to go print our studio couple... ouch. but it was still spinning.. so i didn't really know what happened. looked up a bunch of stuff and figured out that it was just that my firewire chord (or circuit board that transfers the info) wasn't working 'cause it worked with my USB2.0 port. so i'm backing up all of my images (and songs, other personal stuff, etc) onto bryant's ethernet network hard drive. whew. going to take forever 'cause it's alot of data and it's only going by usb2 :( but.. oh well. better than nothing. DISASTER ADVERTED! note to self, always, always, always have another back-up (i was using the HD as a backup but then i hadn't been going to my computer for awhile to put the files onto there so.. it became a primary storage unit and.. that is bad. bad bad bad). 

lesson learned.

on another note, i was approved for a $6,000 credit card. from samy's camera. don't worry :P i was co-signed by bryant and we used it to buy a printer. epson stylus pro 3800 to be exact. look that thing up online, it's freakin HUGE! but well worth it. no more printing at the campuses. expensive as heck though :\ it was the last day of a tax-free event though.. so we got it for $1200 (deal). with the credit card we got 12 months tax-free. awesome. super good deal. inks were $57/ea for 8 types of ink (but they last a long time). four packs of different kinds of paper added on another $100+ to it so the grand total is about $1800.. yikes. i've never seen that large of an amount on a receipt before X__X; 

crazy.

what i should've done was get a tripod. especially since it was tax-free. that event is over (today--thursday--was the last day). we heard about the sale around 3pm and finally at 5:30pm, bryant turned to me and asked me if i wanted to get a printer. and samy's closed at 6pm. crazy. got there and had the poor people stay an extra 20-25 min to get our sale done. 

really want a new tripod :(

finally taking pictures of my equipment just to have to show the insurance company, just in case something were to happen. need to take down serial numbers... especially with my new lenses. oh my babies! they're so nice. so so nice. also taking pictures of my other lenses to put online to hopefully sell. even though i'd only get about $150 or so.. oh well. 

played with a nikon d300 in studio when i was shooting studio couple (post those shots later).. and i really, really want a new camera now :( ugh. oh well. 

still need to find a musician and an artist. aahh..  

and hearing back tomorrow (or so dominique said--she's french!) for the apartment. she said before the weekend. someone else said before the weekend technically includes saturday but i said NO. weekend starts friday NIGHT! beeeyotches! but yea. hope we get it, i think we will. i was really persistent about asking her for a contract, asking her if we were going to get the place, etc. jeebus. but yea. 

going to watch austin powers tonight for the first time.. 

oh and.. semi-pro is pretty funny. you should listen to the song "love me sexy" (http://youtube.com/watch?v=3jwjS3Ee_SM). it's awesome.
